Police investigating homicide at Stateline area motel
A welfare check of a woman at a South Lake Tahoe motel turned into a coroner’s case Wednesday afternoon.
South Lake Tahoe police officers entered the Stateline area motel on June 20 and found a 40-year-old woman deceased on the bed.
No one from the Lone Pine Lodge would speak to Lake Tahoe News on the record and police are keeping mum other than to say they are treating the death as a homicide at this point.
A toddler had been heard crying in the room, which prompted the welfare check. Child Protective Services is caring for the child.
Police said more information should be released on Thursday.
