Factory stores at the Y-Have you visited there lately? Another store is closing today, Great Outdoor Clothing. That entire side of the center will be empty! Wow, is business that bad or is the landlord over charging? Trader Joes could fill that entire side, wouldn’t that be nice.

In it’s moment of glory for receiving America’s Best Value Inn, their website
    doesn’t seem to be working?
    http://www.besttahoe.com/
No photos open, even on the Home page, and the info buttons are not working.
Come on….this is your chance to shine!

Stores at the Y look like its a bad scene ,I agree, a lot of empty buildings ,Trade Joe would be nice ,Why not?

Years of decline and decay… warnings about the poor business environment and the rotting government in South Lake Tahoe.

Now you have a declining population and collapsing economy….

Why would Trader Joe want to come to South Lake Tahoe?

It’s not like you haven’t been warned for years.

Ignorance is bliss – then you get this.

Our version of Trader Joe’s is Grass Roots, which is expanding across the street from the stores at the Y.
High rents in a down economy is a problem in this town.

JoAnn, What evidence do you have that rents are high? How do rents per SF compare at th Y versus at the Village and at the Raley’s
    and at SkiRun?

Might help if they made it possible to enter the center from the West lanes of 50.

By the time people can see it’s a shopping center they have already pasted the small entrance.

Are they suppose to go to the airport and turn around?

Factory Stores at the Y property is decrepit, does not matter what the rents are, the property is quite embarrassing, IMO. I personally, would not start a business there.

Factory stores at the Y? Turn it back into Lampsons Market.
    Take care, Old Long Skiis

Last time I checked with management, Trader Joe’s requires population centers with 100,000 full-time residents. Hopefully, that will never be us.

When is TJ Max opening? What do they sell? I know nothing about them.

Gas prices-I’m sure everyone has noticed the drop in gas prices. They are now only 20 cents more than at Costco, which is very strange since the tax difference is around 40 cents alone. And even cheaper than some of those rip-off stations at Stateline, think Exon. Should we thank Raleys?

I’ve shopped at the TJMaxx in Placerville. It’s a clothing and accessory store for men, women and kids, plus some home accessories. Kinda like a Ross but their racks are always clean and full and more variety and the atmosphere is nicer. Their prices are great!

Raley’s now sets the bar as far as gas prices go. It’s about time here in SLT!

    Well, TJMaxx sounds ok.
