The North Shore pilot ferry program is going to hit Lake Tahoe on Aug. 3. The service stops at the end of September.

The vessel carries 12 passengers and up to eight bikes.

The pilot program includes a “paperless” reservation program, so book ahead online.

Hours of operation are 8am to 8:19pm through Aug. 26 and then the schedule will run through from 8am to 6:46pm to coincide with daylight changes.

Participating docks are: West Shore Café, Tahoe City Marina, GarWoods Grill & Pier and the Tahoe Vista Recreation Area.

Rates start at $10 for adults, $7 for children up to 12 years old. That’s one way.

Ticket kiosks are available at some of the participating docks.

Very skimpy report on a new boating service that might make an interesting outing.
How about more details, a phone number, website, description of the boat, comfort level, trip time, speed, time in each port, with a map and picture of the boat??? Thanks, Woody
