Live bats featured at Zephyr Cove library event
The Douglas County Public Library in Zephyr Cove is hosting “Bats are Cool” on July 20 at 1:30 pm.
The event is presented by Northern California Bats, a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of bats throughout Northern California. NorCalBats will bring live bats to the library and talk about the importance of bats as insect control. In addition, they will explain the environmental benefits of bats, and dispel fears and myths that lead to the deaths of bat colonies.
This program is funded through a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services. For more information, go online or call (775) 588.6411.
