3 arrests in Douglas County marijuana grow

Three people were arrested in connection with growing marijuana in the James Canyon area of Douglas County.

Rafael Salas-Silva, 28, of Sparks, Martin Urloste-Maciel, 26, of Pasco, Wash., and Alberto Mendez-Arroyo, 23, of Reno face federal and local charges in connection with allegedly growing more than 4,700 marijuana plants.

The three were arrested Aug. 15.

If convicted, they each face 10 years in prison and up to a $10 million fine.
