Sugar Pine State Park opening doors for free education day

The public is invited to a free Community Open House at Ed Z’berg Sugar Pine State Park on Aug. 12 from 10am to 1pm to learn about what is new at the park and the venues that are available to rent for private events.

State Sen. Ted Gaines, D-Rocklin, will be attending the event to lend his support to the state park on the shore of Lake Tahoe.

Funds generated through the rental of these venues return to the local park units. The senator will be greeting visitors at the Children’s House between 11am and noon.

Sierra Parks Foundation will be on hand to share its vision for keeping local parks open and provide an overview of the current restoration efforts that are in progress on the property.

Park entrance fees will be waived for the duration of this event as well as tour fees for the historic Hellman-Ehrman Mansion for the 10am, 11am and noon tours.
