A fire near Sly Park off Highway 50 in El Dorado County had consumed about 35 acres as of Monday morning.

The Hazel Fired started the afternoon of Aug. 5, though no cause has been given.

The fire is burning dry timber and brush southeast of Jenkinson Reservoir.

The fire was estimated to be 60 percent contained.

Smoke is likely to be affecting people living and re-creating in the area.

No structures are threatened.
