Working smoke detectors save lives

image_pdfimage_print

A smoke detector with a missing or dead battery is of no help to anyone. It’s a good idea to test your smoke detector periodically and a bad idea to take the battery out and use it for something else.

Read the instruction manual for your smoke detector and know how it operates and how to test it.

Remember, a smoke detector with a missing or dead battery is of no help to you or your family. Test your detector today.

I’m alive because of a smoke detector. The flue worked its way loose over night & almost filled the house with smoke. About 3 a.m. the alarm went off, waking me up; I was able to get out outside, see there were no flames, fix the flue, air out the house & go back to bed. Alive.
