5 South Lake Tahoe council candidates to square-off
Who should be elected to the South Lake Tahoe City Council?
The five candidates will make a case for themselves at an Oct. 1 forum sponsored by Lake Tahoe News, South Tahoe Association of Realtors and Lake Tahoe Lodging Association. Two positions are open.
The 11am event is at Inn by the Lake’s conference center. Moderating will be Hayley Williamson and Sharon Kerrigan.
The public is encouraged to attend to find out what the candidates’ views are on a variety of topics.
Lake Tahoe News is also publishing Q&A profiles of each candidate, having started on Sept. 10. They will run for five Mondays.
May sound like a stupid question, but how many council seats are being filled in the election? 2, or 3 including Claire Fortier’s?
Are there going to be any forums with the candidates that aren’t during busiiness hours when many of us work?
These are the forums we know about:
Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce-Tahoe Daily Tribune sponsored forum Oct. 10, 6-8pm at the theater at South Tahoe High School.
Soroptimist International South Lake Tahoe sponsored forum Oct. 10 at noon — not sure if that is open to public. Lunch is $15.

Kae, we have been told that the Oct. 10 forum at the high school will be in the TADA room rather than the new theatre.
2 council seats need to be filled from the 5 candidates running. What a great slate we have this time around! The Q&A’s should prove enlightening on Monday, October 1st, 11:00, at Inn by the Lake. This forum is open to the public. Thanks to Lake Tahoe News, and the Lake Tahoe Lodging Association for co-sponsoring this event with the South Tahoe Association of Realtors and also to the candidates: Cole, Grego, Sass, Conner and Schue, for their time on Monday.
