Carter Springs Fire 30% contained

Nearly 3,500 acres have burned in Carter Springs Fire in Douglas County.

The fire is burning mostly unburned areas within the fire perimeter, predominately on Bureau of Land Management property in the southern Pine Nut Mountains.

No structures have been lost. Power lines down at the fire scene, but they are de-energized, which is impacting some local rural residences.

The fire that started Sept. 21 is about 30 percent contained and is expected to by fully contained by Sept. 25.
