A former California Highway Patrol officer has been arrested in El Dorado County on stolen property charges.

During the past several weeks, El Dorado County sheriff’s detectives have been working numerous burglary investigations throughout the county involving stolen firearms.

Detectives on Sept. 26 searched a residence at 4500 Wendsan Lane in Placerville.

Deputies said former CHP Officer Michael Rupley was in possession of stolen firearms. He was booked into the El Dorado County Jail on charges of receiving stolen property.
