KGID board to vote on water meters

Kingsbury General Improvement District customers could start paying for water based on consumption instead of the current flat rate.

There will be a public hearing on Oct. 16 at 6pm to discuss the proposal. If the board agrees that night to switch to meters, the change would be effective Nov. 1.

The change would affect all customers – residential, commercial, recreational, industrial, high density, restaurant, and office-retail.

The meeting is at the KGID office, 160 Pine Ridge Drive, Stateline.

It’s about time. People should pay based on how much water they use. Wasters should pay more. Conservation should be rewarded. The net effect is, people will waste less.
