Illegal marijuana grow shut down in Markleeville
More than 100 pounds of dried and finished marijuana were confiscated Tuesday from a residence in Markleeville and one person was arrested.
This is the second illegal grow Alpine County sheriff’s deputies have uncovered in a matter of days.
Deputies said they found “an elaborate indoor and outdoor facility for the cultivation, harvesting and processing of marijuana” at 180 Larson Canyon Road.
One-pound packages of marijuana, 20 plants as tall as 6-feet, 30 immature plants, a small number of psilocybin mushrooms, and concentrated marijuana known as hashish were confiscated.
Jason Scott Miller, 37, of Markleeville was arrested Oct. 16 and booked on charges of marijuana cultivation, possession of concentrated cannabis, possession of marijuana for sale and sales of marijuana.

For one who does not support this product, Thanks to the Alpine Co. Sheriff’s Office for finding every one of these. Good job.
The last two articles reporting “Grow House” busts list Markleeville as the location. If you did just a little research you would find that both of these recent busts occured more than 10 miles from our little town in the “Mesa” area of Alpine County. You should check your facts before misleading your readers into thinking this is happening in Markleeville.
John C. sorry, but most of the east side of Alpine Co. is referred to as Markleeville, that is where the P.O. is located and until those who live here, start to identify and distinguish each small community, it will always be Markleeville as the “location”.
Complete waste of resources.
