Tahoe USFS sites to close for the season

The U.S. Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit annual closure of recreational facilities around the Lake Tahoe Basin has begun.

Campgrounds and day-use areas traditionally close around mid-October. Forest roads typically close around mid-November. The Taylor Creek Visitor Center will remain open through October.

Recreation sites in the basin are managed and operated by both concessionaires and the Forest Service. Tahoe Recreation (formerly California Land Management) sites will close Oct. 14. These sites include Nevada Beach, Fallen Leaf, Bayview, Meeks Bay, William Kent and Kaspian campgrounds and Nevada, Pope, Baldwin, Meeks Bay, William Kent and Kaspian beaches. Camp Richardson, Roundhill Pines and Zephyr Cove resorts remain open year-round.
