Woman survives fall of more than 100 feet at Eagle Falls

A 20-year-old Chico woman sustained serious injuries when she fell near the Emerald Bay overlook at Lake Tahoe on Oct. 13.

According to El Dorado County sheriff’s deputies, she fell approximately 100 feet down the lower Eagle Falls.

The woman’s name has not been released.

The incident occurred about 2:15pm.

“Due to the location of the victim and her major injuries, rescuers called for the California Highway Patrol helicopter H-2) to conduct a hoist operation and turn the victim over to CalStar for transport to Renown Medical Center,” Deputy Damian Frisby said in an email to Lake Tahoe News.
