With plenty of snow on the ground, Forestdale Road in Hope Valley is closed to snowmobiles for the season as of Dec. 28.

The Carson Ranger District of the U.S. Forest Service prevents access because the are is next to the Mokelumne Wilderness Area and motorized vehicles are not allowed in any wilderness area.

Hope Valley Snopark is open to snowmobilers as a staging area.

It is closed because it is “next to” the Mokelumne Wilderness area. Not “IN” it, “NEXT” to it.
    Power to the correct people!
How long is it going to take for people to realize that sooner or later they’ll start taking YOUR rights away too, not just those of “those other people”?

Maybe it is because some snowmobilers have been irresponsible and selfish and are not respecting the rights of others.
Some people just can’t have nice things.
