Red Hawk Casino murder suspect arrested

A suspect in the Red Hawk Casino killing has been arrested.

Juarez Estephen, 33, was taken into custody Dec. 3 at 10pm at a residence on Cothrin Ranch Road on the West Slope.

He is accused of killing 19-year-old Gene McArn on Nov. 21.

Deputies said they surrounded the residence and Estephen surrendered peacefully. However, while they were leaving the residence a dog attacked an El Dorado County sheriff’s K-9. The aggressive dog was fatally shot.
