14 New Year’s Eve revelers arrested in Stateline
Fourteen people celebrating New Year’s Eve in the Stateline casino area were arrested by Douglas County sheriff’s deputies.
Charges included assault, domestic battery, disorderly conduct, minor consuming alcohol and civil protective custody. One person was issued a citation and released.
The Nevada side of Highway 50 was closed from 11pm to 1am so people could meander. The sheriff’s department has not released the number of people in the area, but had been expecting 60,000.
The various law enforcement and support agencies included Nevada Highway Patrol, South Lake Tahoe Police Department, El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, California Highway Patrol, FBI, Douglas County Communications Center, Nevada Department of Transportation and Caltrans.
