• Tahoe Truckee Unified School District on Jan. 15 refinanced bonds from its 1999 and 2000 measures, resulting in $2.77 million in savings to its taxpayers over the next 17 years.

• Togo’s sandwich chain is on a growth spurt. It opened 11 shops in 2012, including in Truckee. A franchise agreement has been signed for a store to open in South Lake Tahoe.

• Harrah’s Lake Tahoe is completing a major remodel and rebranding of its nightclub. The new name is PEEK Nightclub. Paris Hilton will be on hand to help celebrate the grand opening Feb. 16.
