STHS students’ photos in top 100 in contest

Colton McHugh’s, a junior at South Tahoe High School, had his photograph selected as one of the 100 best in the 33rd annual College & High School Photography Contest sponsored by NIKON.

Sandy Robles, who graduated in 2012, is also a finalist, as is student Julia Schmidseder.

The top 12 will be selected from this group to receive a $2,000 scholarship.

Winning photos will be published in the May issue of Photographer’s Forum magazine, entered into Nikon’s Emerging Photographers Hall of Fame and exhibited at Brooks Institute Gallery 27.

    Congratulations to Colton! I was a finalist last year and this year (out of about 18,000 people worldwide). To make it to the top 12 is amazing!
