Celebrity Golf sure helps with the towns income. If we had a large enough Civics Center(Hole in the Ground?) we could host a multitude of events that could keep this town humming along nicely. People with money will come if they just have a cool reason.

I’ve never understood why Tahoe doesn’t host more downhill skiing events.
Further, why is Minden the Soaring Capitol when they fly their gliders over Tahoe?
Summer:Boat races, everything from paddle boards to the screaming fast hydro planes and every type of water craft in between. Fishing contests. Swimming competition in the lake.
Mountain bike downhill races as well as motocross and jeep races at the sand pits.
Winter:World Cup ski racing on the face at Heavenly Valley as well as snowmobile races. A Biathlon competition. Dog sled racing.
I’ll stop there but there is always lots more. OLS
long boards….Remember that JET BOAT guy out at CAVE ROCK,WE WENT WATCHED, the guy going to rocket across the lake break a World water speed record,the slight wave or wind tore the craft into small pieces and the lake trout got a few munches before they found him in deep water,what was so mind blowing,the guy didn’t even have permit ,backed right down the ram,fire up the jet engine and the rest is a memory.
At one time when we had the best world cup attraction up on world cup,there was hardly a soul show up,Europe these events draw lots crowds,they get drunk for 3 days after when their hero wins.

Sea Plane events if you could figure out how the invasive species guys can inspect them in the air before the touch the water.

Yeah I remember the jet boat guy. I do recall that he used an unconvential fuel but don’t remember the pilots name. I wasn’t there but my neighbor was and he photographed the whole thing.
Supposedly when the boat crashed he was decapitated and they found his head still strapped into the helmet. Could be just a gruesome rumor but one never knows. Happy boating, Old long Skiis

We already host an Iron Girl Triathelon. Why not make a bigger event around it?

MTB Slopestyle is a great spectator event. Unfortunately Heavenly doesn’t allow mtn bikes to use the lifts, so………..

Cross country ski races on one of the golf courses. Lots of parking and a clubhouse to warm up in. OLS
