Winter weather advisory for Lake Tahoe

The howling wind that has been whistling through the Lake Tahoe Basin for most of the day is a precursor to a storm that is on its way.

The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a winter weather advisory for Tahoe from 6pm Wednesday through 9am Thursday.

The heaviest snow is expected in the morning. The lake could see 3-6 inches, while higher elevations could get 9 inches.

Snow is possible into Friday, with a break on Saturday before the white stuff starts falling again on Sunday.
