Gardnerville pilot identified as plane crash victim

Douglas County officials have confirmed that the man who died in a plane crash in the Pinenut Mountains was pilot Keith Jorgenson of Gardnerville.

The wreckage was discovered Feb. 7.

It was a Cessna 172 that crashed.

Jorgenson had left the Minden Airport on Wednesday and was expected back that night.

The cause of the accident is unknown at this time. It is being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board.
