Lake Tahoe News has a copy of “Get Out of My Crotch” to give to someone. This book is edited and published by Kim Wyatt, owner of Bona Fide Books in Meyers.

The back cover says, “We are witnessing the patriarchy’s last gasp, and it’s not going down without a fight. Using legislation, language, and women’s own silence, it seeks to return us to a time when choice and self-determination were not options.

“In this collection, twenty-one fearless writers examine reproductive rights, access to health care, violence against women, and the rise of rape apologists in the twenty-first century Untied States. Illuminating intersections of gender, class and race, these stories speak to the challenges women routinely face, the attempts to undermine their rights, and the deliberate, systemic erosion of their agency and existence as equals.”

All you have to do write a comment about why you want the book. One person will randomly be selected later in the week.

If you are not the winner of the book, they are $18 and may be ordered online.

I would like to add this book to my library of womens’ history so I can loan it out to young women who weren’t alive in the 60s when my generation fought for womens’ rights. We need to demonstrate to our daughters and other young women that if they don’t protect the rights that they are taking for granted that there are those who are willing to take them away.Or they can watch Downton Abbey :)

I would like to read it and see if it confirms or denies some of my observations on the treatment of women.

As a mother to 3 daughters & grandmother to a beautiful little baby girl, I feel strongly about educating and empowering today’s girls and women in terms of their rights! For far too long in the past, women were treated as less than equal – thankfully that has drastically changed over the years…especially here in the U.S….but we must all be diligent and insure that women continue to be free to make their own decisions regarding their bodies and their lives! Thank you for publishing this critical book!

In college my minor was Women’s Studies and I worked for many years as a therapist for survivors of rape, domestic violence, and child abuse. I have been, and continue to be, a strong advocate of women’s rights for reproductive freedom, health, and safety. This book has definitely caught my attention and I would love to own a copy (which I will gladly share with anyone who is interested). Peace.
