A South Lake Tahoe man was arrested Thursday night after the vehicle he was driving plowed into two parked cars.

Christopher Catterson, 27, told officers he was not the driver of the vehicle that hit two cars parked in a driveway at 2592 Fountain Drive.

Witnesses told officers Catterson was in the driver’s seat of the Volvo on Feb. 22 after the 8:20pm accident. Catterson, whose driver’s license was suspended for a prior DUI conviction, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, and hit and run.

Officers said it appeared from Catterson’s cell phone that he was in the process of sending a text message at the time of the crash.

Catterson received minor injuries.
