Motorcyclist dies on Geiger Grade

The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal motorcycle accident south of Reno Saturday afternoon.

Troopers say it happened about 2pm on Geiger Grade. Troopers say the unidentified man on a sports bike was driving down the road heading toward Reno from Virginia City.

Troopers say he was traveling at a high-rate of speed when he passed a car on a curve. He sideswiped the car and lost control of his bike.

He was taken by a Careflight helicopter to Renown Regional Medical Center where he later died.

The driver of the Suburu was not injured.
