Hey! Great to hear about the Planning Award on Lakeview Commons! Wonder why I didn’t hear since I managed all the planning for years… :)
Seriously, this project continuous to be a source of pride – hope to see it in April for the first time since it’s been completed!

    Deb,

Glad you are going to have an opportunity to see the results of all the hard work and effort put in by so many people. Even though you left town, isn’t great to stay informed via Lake Tahoe News.

    Kae,
Thanks for putting the City of SLT video on vacation home rentals (VHR) in Snippets. It was a little corny but VERY informative.
If you have a VHR on your street,(and who doesn’t?), and the owner doesn’t comply with city laws you should watch this video done by TPH (aka, tahoe production house) for the city of SLT.
Get the the owner of the VHR to comply to city regulations by making phone calls to the city dept’s phone numbers that are provided in the video.
Tired of noisy drunken idiots who rented a house for two nights? Leaving trash behind that gets scattered all over the neighborhood? That’s after two nights of blaring music and ten cars parked in the street or in front of your house.
I’m not discouraging tourists to come, I’m just asking the owner of the VHR to get his permit and asking that he inform his short term tenants to show a little respect for their neighbors who live here year round.
Thanks for your time, Old Long Skiis

    Skiis and Kae:

That video was hilarious! What a great campy piece—and informative too. I laughed out loud.

Kae – Thanks for including it in Snippets.

There are 4 VHRs on my street. Two of them are managed by a local rental agent and the other 2 are rented by the individual owners. I don’t know if the owner managed units collect and pay a TOT or other fees as there is nothing posted on their property. We just know their vacation rentals by the tourists who come and go throughout the year.

Great news to have a chance to win 1/3 of $100,000 of the Bell Built Grant to finish the planned and approved improvements to Corral Trail in South Lake Tahoe. A great example of a public (USFS,)private (Bell Helments and TAMBA) partnership that injects money into our recreation infrastructure. If you want outside money to be invested in Tahoe go vote, like, and share. https://www.facebook.com/BellBikeHelmets?fref=ts
