U.S. Forest Service fuels management crews will continue prescribed fire operations near South Lake Tahoe on March 7.

Operations will take place off of Cold Creek Trail. Crews expect to burn approximately 5 acres, weather permitting. Operations may continue through the end of the week as conditions allow.

Residents and visitors can expect to see smoke from this prescribed fire project area. The Forest Service strives to minimize the impacts of smoke on local communities. Smoke-sensitive residents should consider staying indoors and keeping doors, windows and outside vents closed.
