Editorial: Obama uses California as cash register

Sometime today, a very fast jet carrying a very important man and his entourage will streak across the Central Valley sky.
That’s the closest President Obama will get to the part of California where mortgages are upside down, where unemployment is disgracefully high and where levees are in need of rebuilding.
We understand that Obama did the politically smart thing during the 2012 campaign. Knowing he had a lock on this blue state’s 55 electoral votes, he flew to the coast, picked the pockets of wealthy Californians and quickly left to stump for votes in battleground states. His only visit to the Valley was a photo op with Helen Chavez, widow of Cesar Chavez, in Kern County.
Now that the campaign is history and he never will have to run for office again, however, he should consider making a real visit to these parts.
The Central Valley has issues that are worthy of a president’s attention, like how to irrigate the richest agriculture region in the nation while maintaining and restoring healthy rivers and a Delta.
Perhaps he could see how a successful farm-to-fork program works and come up with some ideas for his administration’s crusade against childhood obesity. He definitely should see how decisions intended to help Indians are expanding gambling – a vice he used to oppose.
The president, who takes pride in having revamped the federal government’s ability to respond to emergencies, should figure out how to free up money to repair Natomas levees before they fail.
Apparently, Obama was too busy on this visit to the Golden State. The Fundraiser in Chief hopes to help Democrats retake the House, and was vacuuming up money for that effort from billionaires and multi-millionaires in Sea Cliff, Pacific Heights and Atherton.
Maybe as he flies back over, he will gaze out the window, and realize California is a big state. Perhaps one of his political advisers will whisper something about how there are several swing congressional seats in this part of the state. Maybe he’ll resolve that one of these days, he will stop by and learn a little bit about the other California.
As long as Californians continue to vote for people like Feinstein, Boxer and Pelosi the President has no interest in anything other than raising money. He could care about the issues.
As far as I am concerned, he can stay away.
People of California must enjoy the pain… you continue to vote these people in, you give them millions of dollars and for all that you get what? Highest taxes in the nation, a major city going BK, a state billions in debt, a mandate that you provide millions more to insure people who aren’t even here legally and the list goes on.
I love the beauty of the state but find it hard to feel sorry for you. You made your bed, hope you sleep well in it… Hard to fix stupid.
From here it gets worse.

TAXES HAVE INCREASED ALONG WITH THE COST OF EVERYTHING ELSE, GAS HAS DOUBLED IN PRICE, FOOD IS 25% HIGHER, 49 MILLION PEOPLE ON FOOD STAMPS,I COULD GO ON BUT I THINK THAT PEOPLE ARE BEGINNING TO SEE THE LIGHT.
I WAS ONCE PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN, BUT THE PARTY THAT HAS DONE THIS TO AMERICANS SO THAT 15 MILLION ILLEGAL PEOPLE CAN GET US TO PROVIDE FREE INSURANCE, FREE FOOD STAMPS, FREE HOUSING, FREE CELL PHONES, FREE SECTION 8 HOUSING, FREE WELFARE CHECKS EACH MONTH SO THAT THEY CAN MAKE MORE BABIES TO GET MORE MONEY FROM US AND NEVER HAVE TO WORK A DAY.
SOON WE WILL WAKE UP AND REALIZE THAT THE MAN HAS DONE NOTHING FOR THIS COUNTRY BUT CAUSE MORE PROBLEMS
AND HURT THE COUNTRY.NOW HE WANTS TO PUT PELOSI BACK INTO THE LEADERSHIP OF THE HOUSE SO THAT HE CAN FINISH THE END OF AMERICA AS WE NEW IT, IT’S GOING TO GET A LOT WORSE ONCE OBAMACARE IS IN FULL FORCE IN 2014, BUSH LEFT US WITH AN 8 TRILLION DEBT AFTER 8 YEARS BUT OBAMA IN JUST 4 YEARS HAS OVER DOUBLED THAT AND NOW HAS IT AT 17 TRILLION WITH 3 1/2 YEARS TO GO, IT WILL BE OVER 20 TRILLION, THE VALUE OF THE DOLLAR WILL BE NOTHING AND WE WILL BE IN THE SAME SHAPE THAT EUROPE IS IN NOW OR WORSE.

That is one of the most illogical things I have read in awhile. And you claim to understand the scientific method, which is based on solid logic.
Anyone want to explain to this person that Obama is not the mayor of Chicago, and why Obama was in Chicago to begin with?
