Famous pilot now has a Truckee address
When Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger was in South Lake Tahoe last summer he told Lake Tahoe News his family spent a lot of time skiing at Northstar.
Now it will be even easier for the family to do so. No longer do they have to make the 3½-hour drive from Danville. Sullenberger and his wife, Lorrie, have bought a place in Truckee.
The 4 bedroom, 4½ bath was listed for $2.85 million, but the Placer County Assessor’s Office said it sold for $2.4 million.
The couple owned a place in Incline Village at one time as well.
In the time since Sullenberger reached hero status for successfully landing US Airways Flight 1549 into the Hudson River in New York on Jan. 15, 2009, he has spent his time working on air safety, giving talks and getting kids interested in aviation.
