Kings Beach to celebrate Independence Day early
On July 3 (always the day before Independence Day) the Kings Beach skies will shine with a fireworks display and a beach party in honor of the birthday of the United States of America and the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.
New for 2013, a fun Beach Party starting at 2pm on the North Tahoe Event Center deck includes a DJ, live music, dunk tank, food, beer garden, vendors, watermelon eating, sand castle building and patriotic costume contests and more. Beach party proceeds are a fundraiser for the fireworks.
At approximately 9:30pm the skies light up with a dazzling fireworks display, free to the public. Bring a beach chair or blanket to view the fireworks.
Attendees are encouraged to walk, bike or take public transportation to the event.
For public transportation options, go online.
The beach is at 8318 North Lake Blvd., Kings Beach.

Moved from Thursday the 4th To the 3rd?
I wonder what is happening on the 4th that made them decide on the date?
ANSWER ! ! ! Kings Beach probably believes that they need tourism for the 4th of July. While the bigger towns around the lake attract the majority of holiday celebrants, South Lake, and Tahoe City, they don’t want to compete with those attractions on the 4th. So they will try celebrating on the 3rd. There won’t be competition taking away the tourists to the other locations on the 3rd. This, they expect, will provide for a better turnout of participants, and be good for King’s Beach merchants. That’s my take on this move.
I have to say, having been to all the 4th Celebrations at one time or another. when it comes to July 4th fireworks, I have always found Kings Beach to be the easiest to attend.
There is not a big PARTY afterwards. But getting onto the beach and out is not bad.
Lots of good viewing area ect.
Sorry, but the Red, White and Tahoe Blue festival in Incline Village has waaaay better fireworks than KB. I think last year it was about 35 minutes long.
Pyro, Yea I like the Incline Fire works.
They are funded by some very deep pockets. But if you don’t live in Incline its not that easy to attend, (My Experience) And I did spend the first 18 years of life living mostly in Incline.
that Said they will most likely be a day apart so I will attend both
