South Tahoe names honorary mayor
There’s a new mayor in South Lake Tahoe starting today.
David Kelly on Tuesday was made the city’s honorary mayor for one week starting April 3.
In issuing the proclamation, Mayor Tom Davis spoke of Kelly’s dedication of time and energy to the community, most notable for seniors and those with disabilities.
While he wasn’t given a gavel or invited to sit with the rest of the council, Kelly said he was honored by the gesture.

David is such a blessing to have in our community.
David Kelly sets the bar very high in giving time, talent and energy improving our community. Of the many outstanding leaders in this community he is an excellent example to follow.
Congratulations David.
Congratulations Mr. Mayor!
Congratulations David! David is one of the hardest working people I know. He is always there to support his community, our senior citizens and disabled friends, and still have time to participate and support his Kiwanis family. Have a great week, Mr. Mayor!
A hearty congratulations! Now take this week and do it to it! lol
While I don’t know David Kelly personally, I do know of the work he has done for seniors and those with disabilities. This man gives a lot to his community and should be held up as an example to others.
Congratulations, David! A great choice!
I applaud the hard work and advocacy for the elderly and disabled in our society by David Kelly. It’s a never ending battle against the Paul Ryans of the world.
Congratulations Ted! well deserved – smart choice for the city. Virginia Glenn
Thank you for all the kind words!
