• A campaign is under way to have the South Lake Tahoe City Council ban plastic bags, even though the group already voted once not to do so. More info is online.

• The Lake Tahoe Aquatic Invasive Species Coordination Committee will spend a night talking about the past, present and future of aquatic invasive species in the Lake Tahoe Basin. This will be May 23, 5:30-7:30pm at Inn by the Lake in South Lake Tahoe.

• Truckee is having a workshop on the 2013-14 budget on May 15 from 2-8pm at council chambers.

• Vail Resorts Inc. added Arlberg, Austria, to the list of places where the Epic Pass may be used.

• The State Water Resources Control Board on May 7 approved certification of a water quality management plan for Lake Tahoe which also certifies the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency’s Clean Water Act Section 208.
