Happy Mother’s Day

“I am a wife, a mother, a life-long reader, wanderer, and daydreamer.

“When my two sons were small, I constantly had to remind myself: if I raced through my life, I’d miss it. I wanted time to enjoy my children as children, time to play games on the floor, daydream, and read aloud at bedtime. Writing is still a way to stay in touch with my wiser self, a chance to pause each day and make sure I’m appreciating life as we are living it — right here, right now.”

Katrina’s message is incredibly special and much of what she described mirrors the life I have with my two sons. What she hasn’t had the chance to experience yet, is the gift of pride her little babies will provide her as they become successful men with families of their own.

Elisabeth Stone said it best, “Making the decision to have a child is momentous.
It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.”

I wish you all those perfectly ordinary days! Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms, and the children who love them.
