Incline project could boost cell service

AT&T wants to install overhead fiber optic lines on existing poles near Diamond Peak Ski Resort in Incline Village.

The idea is that people would have better cell phone and Internet service.

The U.S. Forest Service, as landowners, will decide if the project goes forward.

No land has to be disturbed in the 10,740-square-foot area where the 1,074-feet of line would go.

Public comment is being taken through May.

    Is underground COMPLETELY unfeasible?

    JohnnyGP.

I bet AT&T would LOVE to bury the next gen Fiber infrastructure to support 21st Century UVerse deployment in the Tahoe Basin.

But even the Biggest baddest Corporation cannot get a backhoe in the ground no matter the cause in the Tahoe Basin.

they are taking the less desirable path of least resistance.

Now watch for a Comcast funded lawsuit to block this.

I am rooting for this one with the hope that this gives us High speed Wifi @ Mt. Rose
