west shore cafe• Lake Tahoe’s West Shore Café and Inn has hired Mike Davis as executive chef and Stacie Krenicki as the property’s general manager. Both were most recently at Martis Camp.

• The U.S. Forest Service will talk May 4 at 4pm about the acquisition of the Hole in the Ground, Lola Montez and Castle Peak acreage. The meeting will be at the Caltrans cafeteria in Kingvale.

• Caltrans is meeting to discuss rehabilitating or replacing the South Fork American River Bridge on Highway 49 in El Dorado County. The meeting is May 14, 6-8pm, Gold Trail Grange No. 452, 319 Highway 49, Coloma.

• MontBleu’s summer outdoor concert series will kick off with the second annual Lake Tahoe Reggae Festival on June 29. The 5,200-seat outdoor amphitheater in Stateline will feature breezy Jamaican rhythms and reggae ska beats from headliners SOJA and Alpha Blondy, along with special guests Passafire, Stickfigure, Tomorrows Bad Seed and Island of Black & White.
