• Sunnyside in Tahoe City is having a deck opening party May 24. Mountain Grill opens at 11:30am, live music is from 3-9pm.

• On May 26 at 11am is the annual Patriotic Service honoring all veterans and troops at First Baptist Church, 1053 Wildwood Ave. in South Lake Tahoe. All veterans, current service members and family are welcome. Uniforms or memorabilia are encouraged. Potluck follows the service.

• Employees from the Sparks Galleria Branch of AAA Insurance Nevada presented a $5,000 check to the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office that will be used to purchase ballistic shields for patrol vehicles.
