Barton Auxiliary gives $14,500 in scholarships

The Barton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary recognized 13 students during the annual scholarship luncheon this month at Tep’s Villa Roma.

Scholarships of $1,500 were given to the following students who will pursue an education in health care and attend a university in the fall:

Douglas High School: Kaelin Mejia and Kendra Wynar.

South Tahoe High School: Melanie Grady and Christy Walowit.

Whittell High School: Garrett Bronken and Colette Craig.

Lake Tahoe Community College: Sunshine Campbell and Morgan Leilani.

Additional scholarships of $500 were awarded to graduating Mount Tallac High School students who are continuing their education at Lake Tahoe Community College or a trade school: Ashley Hernandez, Omar Gonzalez, Dulce Antonio, Clark Cabristante and Jaron Fields.
