Kings Beach celebrates Independence Day early

Fourth of July revelers will have the opportunity to start celebrating the holiday a day early in North Lake Tahoe. The fireworks display in Kings Beach is July 3.

On July 3 from 2-10pm the North Tahoe Business Association will host a Beach Party open to all ages featuring disc jockey Chango, live music by local band One Track Mind, a dunk tank, beer garden, food vendors, and contests that include sand castle building, watermelon eating and patriotic costumes.

This celebration will take place outside of the North Tahoe Event Center and at the Kings Beach State Recreation Area.

The fireworks display is scheduled to begin at 9:30pm over Lake Tahoe.

Those attending the festivities are encouraged to walk, bike or use public transportation.
