ya, let someone dictate what is comfortable, an what saves you fractions of ounces/seconds. Ask yourself this, Am I riding or am I training? why do 99% of people on road bikes look like they’re top notch racers, cause they go to these clinics an listen to this race propaganda.. spend more time on the bike an less time thinking of hill climbs as advanced concepts.

Muir, I don’t know what your goals are. But each unto their own. If you’re going to be arrogant in your life and assume you know everything, you’ll never know if you could have learned something. Classes like these are important for communities. Even if you have no interest, just offering these classes to those who are humble enough to learn is important. Today its bike classes, tomorrow is perhaps a dance class, next year its physical therapy classes. The more we grow as a community the more that is offered the better we become. Muir people are attracted to places where things happen, and by offering a chance to learn from a professional, we are a better place. Ask yourself what knowledge do you contribute, or do you just like to sit and complain?

    What exactly is “proper attire”?

    Sounds like a great class!

Not sure why anyone would consider learning the traditional norms and strategies of road cycling as “race propaganda.” This class is clearly geared toward someone looking to ride longer distances or in races, not just down to the beach.

And, proper attire is probably clothing that won’t block other riders’ vision while riding in a group or get caught in your chain (like a pair of sweatpants could).
