Series of classes focuses on gardening
The Green Thumb Workshop Series starts today with a talk about “Food Gardening 101” featuring Christy Daugherty, formerly from the U.S. Forest Service and now part of the Lake Tahoe Master Gardeners.
For people who are interested in making their landscape a little more productive, this is a talk to go to. Learn how to start from seeds and end the season with a bushel of fresh fruits and veggies.
Bring your gardening questions and concerns to the UC Tahoe City Field Station (2400 Lake Forest, just east of Tahoe City) from 5:30-6:30pm.
Additional Green Thumb Workshops include:
July 9: Right Plant-Right Place
July 16: Pest Management-What’s Bugging You?
July 23: Composting From Garbage to Garden
July 30: Get Wild in Your Garden
Aug. 6: Sprinkle or Shower? Efficient Irrigation
Aug. 20: The Dirt on Your Garden Soil.
