Due to low water levels, both launch ramps at the Silver Springs and the Fallon sides are closed at Lahontan State Recreation Area.

Beach launching is available at boaters’ own risk. Decreasing water levels continually expose new rock and sand bar hazards; extreme caution is advised for boats pulling skiers or traveling at higher speeds.

The reservoir is open for camping, swimming, canoeing and fishing.
