NHP cracking down on violators long Hwy. 50
The Nevada Highway Patrol will be stepping up enforcement efforts on Highway 50 effective now through Aug. 12.
These efforts will be focused on stopping and citing motorists who exceed the posted speed limit; in addition to the speed enforcement campaign, troopers will be looking closely at other traffic violations such as reckless or aggressive driving, driving under the influence, following too closely, talking or texting on a hand-held cell phone, and lane change violations. Anyone violating these offenses will be receiving a citation as part of a “zero tolerance” approach to reduce accidents in the area.
Funding for this enforcement campaign is from a joint grant through The Office of Traffic Safety.
Come on vacation, leave on probation!
Revenue enhancement. But thanks for the heads-up.
along?
They need an extra grant to do their job?
I cannot see one thing that is wrong with this effort. These are all violations that put others at risk of serious injury or death. Don’t break the law, no problem.
Enjoy, Rick
I would like to see them leave people alone on the Stretch from Spooner Summit to 395 and hit hard from Spooner into State-line. Seems that is were the congestion and issues reside.Staying under the limit all the way to Carson City or Back is tough when you are commuting. I never could seem to stay under the limit through there.
Had to go out to Moundhouse today. Didn’t see a single NHP from SLT to Carson, but between Carson and Moundhouse they were hauling ’em in.
