A 28-year-old South Lake Tahoe man was stabbed to death early Saturday morning and the suspect is at-large.

The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of family.

The confrontation occurred about 3:30am July 20 near the Americana Village on Pioneer Trail. By the time officers arrived, the victim had been transported to Barton Memorial Hospital by family. He died from multiple stab wounds to his torso.

Police said the suspect was walking west on Pioneer Trail when he encountered a group of three men, including the victim, near the Americana. A confrontation occurred between the suspect and this group of men, which turned into a physical fight. During the fight the suspect used an edged weapon to stab the victim in the side.

The suspect fled the area without being identified other than being a white male in his 20s.

Police say this is not gang related.

From the article, it sounds like the ‘perp’ was actually the victim. But I’m sure we’ll hear more soon. . .

Please explain your logic on how the perp was the victim.
A rational person would not find any evidence in this very short article to think it is reasonable to make any conclusion.

That is about the worst article that I have ever read. If you can’t do better than that you should just not print it, it doesn’t make since. Is that how the police report reads ????????/

New to this, in a situation like this isn’t content a little more important than form? I believe that LTN.net was trying to get out information (and being as they are not omnipotent, they can only work with the info they are given at the time)that might be pertinent to our town’s citizenry’s safety in a very timely manner. Would you rather have waited till Monday when the police might come forth with more info to hear about this?

Thanks LTN for notifying us where and when these type of altercations take place. The article posted today about the Lakeview Commons attack falls under my compliment as well. The more we are aware of locations where criminal activity takes place, the better prepared we can be.
