Welcome to Ray. Many years ago I surveyed Mammoth vs South Lake Tahoe – it turned out that Mammoth public employees were making somewhat more in wages and benefits than South Lake Tahoe public employees, but South Lake Tahoe public administrators were paid substantially better than their Mammoth counterparts. If that’s still true, the City should be able to hire real stars to run its services. So we can all expect great things from Ray.
I’d like o see a little more about Ray’s background and experience in public works, is he also an Engineer? The City used to have Public Works Directors that were also Engineers and that way they didn’t have to hire both positions. And that saved a lot of money.
