West Nile virus found in parts of N. Nevada

Mosquitoes carrying the West Nile virus are buzzing around Northern Nevada.

Officials found the virus in Douglas County test pools. Infected mosquitoes have been found in Carson City, and Washoe and Lyon counties.

While there is no human vaccine for West Nile, horses can be vaccinated.

The best prevention for people is to apply a dose of bug juice and/or wear clothing that covers skin to avoid being bitten.
