We were in emerald bay today when the child drowned. So sad for the grieving family! The water can be a scary place. One moment everyone is having fun and the next moment your worst nightmare. Our prayer for the boy and his family.
Our prayers are with you and yours .
My thoughts go out to the boy’s loved ones. Very sad.
Last night, I was attending a Volunteer Appreciation Celebration at Sugar Pine Point State Park. In attendance were several Rangers. There was such a sadness permeating the air. My heart goes out to the family of this boy. Words cannot accurately express my feelings. I am so truly sorry for your loss.
I’m asking for prayer for the family, and special prayers for his twin brother who tryed to save his brother.
My family and I were on Emerald Bay at the time of the drowning, we had just kayaked by the island. I’m still in shock and so saddened to hear of such tragedy. Words cannot express… I pray for the entire family. I don’t know the family but I haven’t stopped thinking of them.

We were cruising into the area with a boat full of kids when it happened… We were all saddened and felt so helpless… All the boys in our boat wanted to dive in and help look for the boy… It is truly sad at how quickly life can slip through your hands…we have all been praying non stop for the family and the boy… The clouds were in the shape of angels yesterday

We were hiking down to the beach on the trail and saw all the emergency equipment. Once down on the beach, We saw the family in the boat and watched the divers and helicopter hoping and praying that the boy would be found. It was tense and frightening and sad. Our prayers continue for the family in this tragic accident.
My heart goes out to this poor kid.
Please parents, protect your kids and use your brains. It is never safe to swim away from your boat, that defeats the purpose of the orange flag. Especially in emerald bay, an area that wakeboarding and tubing is banned in, highly trafficked by hundreds of boats a day including large paddle wheel boats and large tour boats that could have hit him. Plus towards the island the water gets around 400ft (so cold!!)…… Just please people, Tahoe is beautiful but also dangerous if your not using your brain. Winter and summer both have variables people need to be prepared for.
I don’t think he should have bee swimming in Emerald Bay! Condolences to the family…soooo sad.. :(
My love and prayers go to your family.
