A meeting on Aug. 6 will focus on community impacts of September’s Ironman Lake Tahoe.

The 5:30pm meeting will be at the North Tahoe Event Center in Kings Beach.

The sold-out triathlon is Sept. 22. More than 2,500 athletes will be competing.

Race director Keats McConigal, assistant director Todd Jackson and course director David Reid will be attending the meeting. The three will go over traffic concerns, race impacts, and the economic benefit the race will have on the area. Following the presentation there will be time for audience questions.

The course runs throughout most of North Lake Tahoe. It starts at Kings Beach State Recreation Area and cyclists will pedal through Truckee and over Brockway Summit before the event ends at Squaw Valley.

Iron Girl was held at the South Shore for several years. I think the bike segment on Hwy 50 was the biggest impact but on Sunday morning it was manageable. The swim segment was well organized off Lakeside Beach and the run was through the neighborhood by the Stateline.
It was well run and fun to watch and cheer them on.

Too bad Iron Girl isn’t coming back.

Well sending the course into Truckee and back to Squaw Blocks to of the 4 entry points into the North Shore. That is obviously political and does not put the Best of the Tahoe Basin into the venue.

that said I hope all have a great time and the residents along the line feel the excitement and pride in hosting a great venue.
Lets leave the (How this inconvenienced me) out of the discussion
