Northstar preps for annual food and wine fest
The 28th annual Lake Tahoe Autumn Food and Wine Festival at Northstar will pair savory adventures with the regional food and wine delicacies.
The Sept. 6-8 event includes cooking seminars and demonstrations, culinary competitions, wine tastings, food-themed excursions and more.
Events include the Gourmet Marketplace Vendor Fair, Village Wine and Brew Walk, Blazing Pans Mountain Chef Cook Off and the Charbay Annual Release Party. Other additions include the Goose Island Craft Beer and Artisan Cheese Pairing, Live Concert with Joe Craven, cooking demonstrations with TV chef Nathan Lyon, and a raw foods seminar with raw chef Steph.

Why don’t we have this type of event in SLT (Heavenly Village?). These Food & Wine Festivals are very popular at mountain resorts (such as Aspen,etc.).

North Star was developed and populated with people who are the Target demographic for a (Food and Wine Festival) Nothing wrong with that, but its two completely different places.
North Star needs this type of stuff to attract potential restate buyers to the area and bring in Money when the ski area is not open. South Shore does not have this problem in the summer. They also do a booming MTB business. As of now its the only Lift serviced MTB in the Greater Tahoe area. MTB people also happen to have quite a bit of disposable income.
