Today, you can buy a larger 32-inch modern flat-screen TV of the same brand for $299.
Alpine TV was the 1960’s builder and owner of the business center at 1950 Lake Tahoe Blvd.
Today a liquor store occupies the original Alpine TV space.

When RCA’s color CTC5 came out, think that was 1952, the price was about $700. That was a huge amount of money then; considering that you could buy a car for around $1800; postage was 3 cents, and gasoline was a bit under 30 cents a gallon.
Bought out first Packard-Bell, 12 inch, black and white for 350 dollars in April of 1950. Had to manually adjust the vertical and horizontal hold and fine tuning. Tubes burned out routinely every 2 or 3 months, though the picture tube was very reliable.
